Artist Ben Ein  painted the entire alphabet in lowercase letters on the London business’ shutters from Liverpool St. Station to Petticoat Lane.

Alphabets

I found Reuben Miller's 22 alphabets via Crafty Crow.

There are alphabets made from hair, elastic bands, backend of lorries, hands, people, meat etc etc. Great ideas and I love how some are presented. Maybe mess about with my own found letters in the street.

My favourite has to be the sign language alphabet.

I am still alive

It has been over 3 weeks since my last post, I'm out of the groove of working when Toddler Girl sleeps in the afternoon and blogging about it at night.

We've also had a sickly Toddler Girl, I'm baking weekly now and studying twice a week for a book keeping course (did I tell you I was doing a book keeping course?) So, those are my excuses!

Oh and I found an X in the street! Soooooo pleased...

Encyclopedia of Me

Dy at Random Applique pointed out the Encyclopedia of Me which was started by Bella Dia.

Looks very interesting.... especially the A to Z wall hanging on her post (I MUST make one for Baby Girl! I can't believe she got it from a thrift shop!)

Bella Dia's idea is to make a post each day (during August) beginning with "A is for..." and on the 26th day, "Z is for..." (with some flexibility). Her posts will be on different random topics that somehow relate to her life. This appeals to me on several levels... Its a list (with a begining and an end), its organised (A to Z), its personal and its random...

Perhaps I could tie this in with my Alphabet project...

From Bella Dia's post I found Amy Rosenthal - Encyclopedia of an Ordinary Life. Another book for my Amazon wish list.

yet another new project

I remembered to take my camera on our daily walk today. There are several large blossom trees at the edge of the bowling green. Their bloom doesn't last long but they are so beautiful.



My new project however is a little less beautiful. I'm looking for letters in the street. So far I have 5. I've created a new set in Flickr for this project. Please don't ask why I'm looking for letters in the street.

I'm not really sure.

I do like collecting things and it will be a challenge to get all 26 letters.

I think this project will give me purpose when I'm out and about with my camera, especially when the blossom has gone.
