iPad madness (part 2)

A list of apps for my iPad (once I have saved up hundreds of pounds....)

It comes with 18 apps... including Safari (internet browser), iBooks (organise and read books, pdfs, documents etc), Notes (for note taking using the on screen keyboard).

Other apps I think I may need are:-

iAnnotate PDF (£5.99)- for taking notes on my patterns etc.
Flipboard (free) - puts all my social media in a magazine layout
Note Taker HD (£2.99) - writing and organising handwritten notes (may need a stylus?)
TuneIn Radio Pro (£0.99)- for listening to the radio!
Blogsy ($2.99) or BlogPress ($2.99) - writing blog posts

100% wool felt

I'm investigating fabric to make some of the toys in the Wee Wonderfuls book...

a few of the toys use 100% wool felt although wool blends are ok to.  We use wool blends at The Woolly Brew (soft and cosy and economical!)  but I was curious at the choice within 100% wool felt...

These little balls of yarn are for weaving on a paper plate...  inspired by this idea at That Artist Woman.

I'm going to try it out with Four Year Old (if she ever stops digging in the garden) and then try it out at her nursery.

Not sure if it will work out but an egg box filled with centre pull balls looks good....

The ongoing saga of a cardigan for ME continues...

Peggy Sue by Woolly Mammoth

My Mother in Law kindly gifted me 400g of black Double knitting yarn (yardage unknown!)

Despite previous ideas (detailed here) I'm very (very) drawn to Peggy Sue on Woolly Mammoth.  As long as I make sure the body was long enough and made the arms three quarter length...

This is actually a very similar idea to Four Year Olds cardigan except it is in double knitting and isn't a V neck.  But like Little Miss Greenjeans, it is knit top down and seamless....  and if I follow a fellow Raveller's tip I won't need to pick up any stitches either!

My brother has just informed me that he doesn't have a scarf.

I'm shocked.  Not just because its sub zero outside but also because I never noticed!

I am now on the hunt for a nice manly scarf pattern  which I can whip up before the end of winter...

This one (a P1 K3 rib) is free from Lion Brand.  Obviously I would do it in a nice charcoal  grey..

 

There is also this one from HipKnitizer which looks quite fancy...

knitting - oh interesting

I've been thinking about knitting myself a cardigan or jumper (again).  Mindful that I need to wear it after I've invested money and time knitting it...

and then this little teaser pops up on Ravelry which led me here to Ysolda's link.

garden playmat...

I've had an idea to create a garden play mat for Four Year Old to use with her (many) dolls houses.

She's showing no interest in a crayon/writing folder so maybe this would be a winner...

I'll have to do some sketching... I'm thinking felt, lots of sparkly sequin flowers, butterflies, a pond with fishes, toadstools and apple trees...  vegetable plot? Maybe some flaps with 'rabbit holes' and buried treasure...
