Calendar Challenge 2011

A summary for 2011... My favourites are April, May and June.

I'm not going to do it this year... Running out of steam towards end... I'll maybe try a new challenge this year...

Although its lovely to look back on them...

Not entirely happy with it.  My usual method of having a basic page then adding to it during the month has not really worked - probably because I haven't spent any time on it during the month!  Haven't taken a photo of August page yet.  Will post ASAP

This page has photographed better than it looks in real life.  I spent less time aimlessly doodling this month... but you can't beat some black paint and a piece of bubble wrap!

In fact I haven't even prepared a page for July yet!

I'm using Picasa to upload this and write this post... I've started to shift my files about in readiness for my iPad (£98 raised so far!)

I can't believe I'm on the fifth month and still going strong (hope I haven't jinxed it now...)

For this page I stamped over it with a flower stamp and black paint, I drew some flower shapes on top and also on separate sheets of paper to cut out.  I used the end of a paint brush to make some dots (and have since added some more with a pen..)

Can you tell I'm excited about a night out at the end of the month...?

My April page for Calendar Challenge

Mmmmm this page is NOT how I expected it to be.  Which is strange given that I did it...

I started using this page which I created last year for another project.

I then added my squares and started doodling in and around the pebble shapes... I used Four Year Olds stamps to stamp around the shapes (I like the washed out effect on top of the handmade paper) . 

But then I added a red love heart for Karen's wedding and felt compelled to add some more colour including around the edges... before adding a large APRIL rectangle which will no doubt be doodled on during the month. 

The band of blue squares mark the Easter holidays. 

This was all done over a month with no plan or end vision.  I'm not sure how it will look at the end of April...

calendar challenge - March 2011

My March page for Calendar Challenge.

This was quite an involved page.  I used orange and red fabric paints watered down and painted over the page. I put a bubble wrap print onto it in the same colours. I added yellow and green painted squares then did a black bubble wrap print on top (seen here).  I couldn't see my writing on top of the black (d-oh!).  As a quick fix I used white sticky labels cut with pinking shears and dabbed green and orange and red watercolour paint on top to blend it in.  I then surrounded the zig zag with some black pen.  Doodles were added throughout the month.

so using black bubble wrap print and not having a suitable pen to write on to it was a problem...

I couldn't see my words of wisdom!

so after the addition of some white sticky labels, pinking shears, watercolours and a sponge I'm happy.
